Submission Policy
Any event for which there is a charge to the public requires a one-time paid advertisement (at a minimum charge of approximately $14.16) before it can run in the Community Calendar. This is done in the interest of fairness to the many organizations, nonprofits included, that do buy advertising with The News-Item. Examples of events for which there is a charge include bake sales and dinners.

Any benefit events (Relay for Life, fund-raisers for someone who is ill) do not require advertising.

Once there have been arrangements for and payment made for an ad, the item can begin running in the Community Calendar. Most calendar items run multiple times, depending on how far in advance they are submitted.

In addition to submitting your calendar item here, schedule an ad by .
